Why are Obama's critics so dumb? [Newsweek] →
petercroce:
This generated a ton of buzz today so here’s a repost. Quite a good read regardless of your affiliation.
“But the right isn’t alone in getting Obama wrong. While the left is less unhinged in its critique, it is just as likely to miss the screen for the pixels. …
They miss, it seems to me, two vital things. The first is the simple scale of what has been accomplished on...

I’m not even against the wealthy paying less taxes- the truly wealthy create jobs for the rest of the country (not the rich, the wealthy, read a book). But you don’t get a tax break if you’re not helping to fix the economy. You get to Suck it, that’s what you get. Obama’s not perfect but he’s a whole lot better than what we had.

Yes.
I think this interview hits the nail on the head on the issues we are currently dealing with in our country.
Obama makes it very clear that he is aware of what’s going on in our country and that he knows what the masses are going through aren’t easy. As he puts it, he is a captain on troubled seas and no matter how well he steers the ship, he “can’t control the weather.” I think...

According to Bloomberg, he said that on the 10th anniversary, “we remember that 9/11 was not only an attack on the United States, it was an attack on the world and on the humanity and hopes that we share” in an op-ed for newspapers outside the U.S. “On this solemn anniversary we join with their…

I can’t believe how quickly ten years has gone by and how much things have changed. I still remember Dad first telling me about the attacks as soon as he picked me up from school on 9/11.
Yep, our teachers were told not to tell us ANYTHING that day by school admins. They couldn’t turn on TVs or…

How to Turn Republicans and Democrats Into... →
If we are truly a democracy—if voters get to size up candidates for a public office and choose the one they want—why don’t the elections seem to change anything? Because we elect our leaders, and they then govern, in a system that makes cooperation almost impossible and incivility nearly inevitable, a system in which the campaign season never ends and the struggle for party advantage trumps all...

Take the poll. Should Obama Repeal Health Care? →
I vote hell no. But some folks think it’s cute to do an unscientific poll among a population that is predisposed not to care and say it reflects the nation. So please take 2 minutes and vote, no matter what your views are. If these surveys say that’s what America wants, that’s fine.
But it’s not fair to exclude Democrats and Independents but pretend to be inclusive.
Why Obama Is Not a Lock in 2012 →
I’d be scared to vote for ANY president who was a lock. It smacks of groupthink to me. However, I do want him to win. Not because I’m a fan of his (and I SO AM), but because he’s the best we’ve got. His record of keeping to his word and promises isn’t perfect, but it’s far better than any POTUS we’ve had as long as my parents have been alive.
Obama...
Can They Win, One Tweet at a Time? →
When Obama went off script to joke that Republicans would soon demand a border moat filled with alligators, a blur of Twitter messages showed people sending the quote to friends and followers, signaling a messaging victory of sorts. “It’s kind of the next evolution,” Plouffe explains. “Remember back in 2008, you’d have the presidential debate, and then most of the...

Correction: I don’t care about politicians.
They have essentially no authority and I feel like no matter what they want to accomplish, it won’t really happen.

Argue that even though Obama discussed that we aren’t happy with Bahrain being unfair to its citizens, we aren’t doing anything about it.
